This book doubles as a biography on Francois Leclerc du Tremblay, right hand of Cardinal Richelieu as well as a primer on mysticism. A remarkable book that is well worth reading even if you don’t like Aldous Huxley’s other writing and I don’t very much. There’s a great section on huxldy.
Few people are shocked when they hear God described as the God alous Battles; but what an outcry there would be if anyone spoke of him as the God of Brothels! Inat the height of his fame, Huxley left Europe to live in California, working for a time as a screenwriter in Hollywood.
