As many others mentioned, I read this book first when I was in my 10th standard in school.

That was an awesome experience then. This time all the three parts were included in this new printed version. I felt mesmerized reading this book all over again after 11 years. One may get bored in the later parts, but this is the best for the times this book is printed and for the following it has acquired through Radio and Weeklies.

The pace of the book As many others mentioned, I read this book first when I was in my 10th standard in school.

The pace of the book might be slow or the descriptions about the people are very different because those days barirster don’t have these many shades as they have today. Then people are ether good or bad, where as now we cannot decide whether one is good or bad.

That is why the book has a lot of optimism all over it. I loved reading it. But do not expect the dumbness of protagonist brrister continue from part 1 to other two parts.

He is well matured and developed and will win your hearts. Aug 08, Saikumar rated it really liked it. Really this book is amazing. The 1st part was humorous and 2nd and 3rd were parvafeesam that much humorous but not boring and we can read once.

బారిష్టర్ పార్వతీశం [Barrister Parvateesam] by Mokkapati Narasimha Sastry

Heard a lot about this book and it was also a part of the curriculum for the students of higher secondary school. The book enjoys a reputation of being one of the standard book for humor in telugu literature.

The book is divided into three parts and the first part and the first half of the second part stands perfect to its reputation. However the third division drags the pace and slowly the story drifts towards the independence movement though contemporary to the time the book was authored.

Even Heard a lot about this book and it parvateesan also a part of the curriculum for the students of higher secondary school. Even if one shelves the book without reading the barrisster part one can be excused but the first and second part of the book is a real laughing delight. Jul 03, Chitranjali Edpuganti rated it it was amazing. That feel of nostalgia!

This is hands down one of parrvateesam best telugu books I happen to read! I read this so many years back in my 10th grade, but still I remember the impact it had! Time to revisit again I guess and it did bring a smile when I accidentally saw it here and couldn’t hold myself rating it 5 stars!

Sep 06, Jonathan rated it liked it. Book gives insights of our culture, different people, practices which we had earlier, some of the stories are good to hear those are real contemporary. Nicely written, given vivid pictures about Fabian society. Sep 02, Ramakalyan Ayyagari rated it really liked it.

Re-reading after nearly 2 decades I find this novel, or memoir you might call it, is contemporary in many ways. Going out of the comfort zone, though portrayed on the comedy canvass, is something everyone has to uncover. Half way through I forgot it’s a hundred year old book.

Oct 24, Swaroopa rated it really liked it. This is an autobiography of imaginary person named Mr. First part is all about his train journey from village to England. Telugu readers really enjoys reading this book.

Dec 24, Sravan rated it it was amazing.
