I love the way Koomson writes children but there was no place in this plot for a child, so Benji’s brief appearance had to be sufficient. Her first impressio Libby and Jack are involved in a terrible car accident where Libby has to be cut out of the car. Her books are absolute must-reads.

When the past catches up to the present, the book shifts into the deeper past, through Eve’s diary entries. I thought the book managed to keep its pace really well.
