In essence, I had two major problems with Evergreen that led me to abandon the book. I believe I saw the TV mini-series of this long time ago. Anna remains the matriarch through it all. After reading this book again Edit Cast Series cast summary: I cannot remember if this was true in the hard copy or not but irritated me to no plajn in the Kindle version.
